• Rangers reach injured hikers (adirondackexplorer.org) — Forest Rangers recently assisted an injured hiker on Hurricane Mountain in the Town of Keene, carrying the 74-year-old to the trailhead for hospital transport. They also handled separate rescues in Wilmington, Newcomb, Harrietstown, and Lake Pleasant, and are reminding Adirondack hikers to plan better, eat adequately, and pack high-calorie food before heading into the backcountry.
