An 11-year-old girl was critically injured when she was struck by a van in Kings Park Saturday morning.

According to police, the girl was walking across Main Street when she was struck by an eastbound van driven by Willian Lopez, 52, of Freeport, at 11 a.m. in front of 78 Main Street.
The child, who police did not name, was airlifted by a Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she was listed in critical condition. Lopez was not injured.

The van was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
