70-Year-Old Man Hit by Car in Lake Grove in Critical Condition
Accident occurred Monday night in Lake Grove, police say.

A 70-year-old Medford man was critically injured after being struck by a car while he was attempting to cross Nesconset Highway in Lake Grove late Monday night, police said.
According to police, Harold Edelman was walking south across Nesconset Highway near Hallock Road when he was struck by a 2012 Nissan Cube that was traveling east on Nesconset Highway at 11:15 p.m.
Edelman suffered serious head injuries and was transported by ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition, police said.

The driver of the vehicle, 38-year-old Julie Chung, of Oakland Gardens in Queens, was not injured. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. No criminal charges have been filed.
The investigation is continuing and detectives are asking anyone with any information about this crash to contact the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452. All calls will be kept confidential.
