Crime Report: Arrest on Main Street for Drug Possession

Man arrested on Main Street for Marijuana possession, another for drug sale on Old Dock Road.

Suffolk County Police Department Fourth Precinct reported these incidental arrests in Kings Park during Jan. 7—16:  

Daniel Lowry, 20, of Kings Park was arrested Jan. 13 in Kings Park and charged with fifth degree criminal possession of marijuana.  Reports state Lowry was arrested on Main Street in Kings Park.   

Ian Smith, 30, of Kings Park was arrested Jan. 11 in Kings Park and charged with third degree narcotics.  Reports state Smith was arrested at Old Dock Road in Kings Park after the criminal sale of a controlled substance.

 None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed above. They are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.  If any of the above charges have been acquitted, in order for removal from publication, one must write the writer and provide proof of dismissal.   

Forged Documents Used at Commack HSBC Bank

Crime Stoppers and the Suffolk County Police Second Squad Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the person who used forged documents twice in one day to withdraw money from another person’s bank account.

On December 16, 2010 at approximately 3:00 p.m., an unknown black male entered the HSBC Bank at 5880 Jericho Turnpike, Commack and withdrew several thousand dollars from a savings account that belonged to a South Carolina man. About thirty minutes later, the same suspect entered the HSBC Bank located at 160 Route 110 in Huntington Station and attempted to withdraw more money from the same victim’s checking account. When asked for identification, the suspect produced a fraudulent South Carolina driver’s license. The subject then fled without the cash.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5000.00 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential
