Crimes Nearby: Arrests for Heroin and Cocaine Possession

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Northport

Virginio Ortiz, 22, of the Bronx, was arrested in Northport on Aug. 12 and charged with pettit larceny.

East Northport

Franklin Waring, 38, of Coram, was arrested in East Northport on Aug. 15 and charged with falsely reporting an incident.

Kevin O’Brien, Jr. 24, of East Northport, was arrested in East Northport on Aug. 14 and charged with fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property.

Eunice Sipley, 42, of East Northport, was arrested in East Northport on Aug. 11 and charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle without the owner’s consent

Commack

Eric Markowitz, 21, of Commack, was arrested August 13 in Huntington and charged with DWI. Markowitz was observed by police at 12:57 a.m. driving on Park Avenue north of Sunset Drive.

Adam Rosen, 35, of Commack, was arrested August 15 in Port Jefferson Station and charged with obscene language and gestures. Rosen was allegedly screaming obscenities and alarming people on Route 112 at approximately 1:15 p.m.

Smithtown

Joseph Green, 31, of Amityville was arrested Aug. 15 in Smithtown and charged with petty larceny. Reports state Green was arrested at the Centereach Mall for the alleged theft of video games. Reports indicate Green was arrested Aug. 13 at the Smithaven Mall for the alleged theft of items from JC Penny.

Christopher Danielo, 21, of Lake Grove was arrested Aug. 10 in Smithtown and charged with third degree criminal mischief. Reports indicate Danielo was arrested for allegedly hitting a Chevy with a baseball bat at approximately 3:30 a.m.


Andrew Markos, 49, of Dix Hills was arrested Aug. 10 in Smithtown and charged with third degree larceny. Reports indicate Markos was arrested for allegedly holding an excavator in excess of an agreed thirty days.

Hauppauge

Joseph Rhodes, 48, and Steven White, 36, of Greenport, were arrested in Islandia Aug. 14 at 9:35 p.m. on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police said Rhodes was standing outside of a Walmart, located at 1850 Veterans Memorial Highway, when he was observed holding bags with a power-like substance. White was sitting in a parked 1996 Chevy, speaking with Rhodes when police officers approached. After a field search, police said they found Rhodes in possession of heroin and rock cocaine, and White in possession of heroin.

Three Village

Ivan Medina, 33, of Selden, was arrested Aug. 17 in Setauket and charged with fourth degree grand larceny. Reports state Medina was arrested for allegedly making unauthorized cash transactions used towards diesel fuel. Reports indicate the transactions were conducted at 255 Pond Path in Setauket between July 1 at 7 a.m. and Aug. 17 at 4 p.m.
Eric Heagle, 18, of Stony Brook, was arrested Aug. 14 in Setauket and charged with first offense DWI. Reports state Heagle crashed a 1999 Jeep Suburban on Old Coach Rd. in Setauket just south of Route 25A at approximately 1:10 a.m. Reports indicate that further investigation determined Heagle was allegedly driving while intoxicated.
