Girls Volleyball Sweeps Invitational Tournament
Kings Park makes history, winning their own tourney for the first time.

The Kings Park girls volleyball team continues to dominate this season, beating Lindenhurst at their Friday evening game and sweeping the Kings Park Invitational on Saturday.
Friday night the team defeated Lindenhurst, 3-0. Sophomore Amanda Gannon led the Lady Kingsmen with a team high 21 kills. Senior Tara Trapani had 26 digs and three services aces, with junior setter Kendall Corcoran leading the offense with a 38-assist performance in just three games.

“It was a tremendous overall team performance,” said coach Lizz Manley. “Hopefully we continue to improve each day. I am very proud of our girls.”
Saturday, Kings Park hosted the 5th Annual Kings Park Invitational Girls Volleyball Tournament, defeating Deer Park, Long Beach and Manhasset in pool play and earning the number one seed from Pool A.

In a Long Island Championship rematch, Kings Park took on Wantagh in the quarterfinals and won the game one playoff, 25-15.
The team then went on to defeat Longs Beach and finally Bellport.
Corcoran was named tournament MVP, coming off of her 24 assist championship match performance.
Trapani, Gannon and junior Joelle Goldstein were named to the all tournament team.
Kings Park returns to the action at home on Wednesday when they take on Comsewogue in their home league game opener.
