Kings Park Man Among 5 Arrested at Sobriety Checkpoint
Checkpoint conducted in Smithtown overnight, police say.

Five people were arrested and one vehicle was seized during an overnight sobriety checkpoint in Smithtown, police said.
Police officers from the Suffolk County Highway Patrol Bureau, assisted by police officers from the MTA, conducted the checkpoint on Route 25 between 11:07 p.m. Friday and 2:45 a.m. Saturday.
The operation was conducted for the prevention of injuries and fatalities associated with driving while ability impaired by alcohol and drugs, particularly during the Memorial Day holiday weekend, police said.

A total of 543 vehicles went through the checkpoint. The following people were charged with DWI:
- Raymond Alzheimer, 41, of Kings Park
- Nicole Wiggins, 26, of Smithtown
- Diderot Saintilus, 35, of Huntington
- Karin McPoland, 60, of Smithtown
- Eugene Sheynberg, 29, of Lindenhurst
Those arrested will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday.
