WATCH: Fire Breaks Out At Former Kings Park Psychiatric Center
A building on the property of the abandoned psychiatric center was found on fire Sunday morning.
KINGS PARK, NY — A fire broke out at a building on the former Kings Park Psychiatric Center property early Sunday morning.
The Kings Park Fire Department received a call at around 2:03 a.m. for a reported brush fire near Saint Johnland Road and Mariners Way.
Firefighters arrived to find a "heavily involved structure fire" on the property of the abandoned psychiatric center.

They requested mutual aid from numerous departments, including the Commack, Smithtown, East Northport, and Nissequogue fire departments.
Due to the lack of working hydrants in the area, firefighters used 3,000 feet of hose to connect to a hydrant for a water supply.

Firefighters battled the fire into the rest of the night in frigid temperatures.
There were no reported injuries, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
