Weather Update: Freezing Winds, Snow to Hit Kings Park Saturday into Sunday
Wind, winter weather advisories for Suffolk with blizzard-like conditions on the East End.

Eastern Suffolk County is under a blizzard warning through 1 p.m. Sunday as National Weather Service predicts blizzard-like conditions for the rest of Long Island overnight Saturday.
While snowfall totals are not expected to resemble anything like last month’s blizzard, winds gusting between 50 and 60 mph will hit eventually hit single digits and bring visibility down to one quarter of a mile.
In Suffolk County, the storm is expected to drop 3 to 5 inches on the East End. The latest projections are down from Friday’s forecast, which predicted up to 8 inches of snow for eastern Suffolk.

Despite the decreased snowfall projections, the entirety of Suffolk County is currently under a blizzard warning through 1 p.m. Sunday. Blowing snow could cause snow drifts and whiteout conditions out east, according to NWS.
Winds will combine with snowfall across the island with higher accumulations expected further east. Nassau County can expect 2 to 4 inches of snowfall overnight Saturday with less than an inch falling Sunday.

Wind chills are expected to drop into the teens Saturday and even into single digits Sunday night.
Officials are warning of “dangerous travel due to snow and strong winds with near blizzard conditions possible.” Winds may bring down power lines and tree limbs.
