With only scattered bottles and crates remaining, they’re compiling research and displays so this homegrown success doesn’t disappear from Kingston’s shared history.
   

2. Ulster County to launch revolving loan fund for business and non-profits (midhudsonnews.com) — From Kingston, Ulster County officials have announced a revamped Revolving Loan Fund offering low-interest loans of $7,500 to $150,000 for small businesses and nonprofits. The program, run through the Ulster County Economic Development Alliance, can support property improvements, equipment, working capital, and more to help local organizations expand.
   

3. Team Mid-Hudson ready for BCANY Summer Hoops Festival at M-W (VIDEO) (midhudsonnews.com) — Several Kingston high school standouts are suiting up for Team Mid-Hudson at next weekend’s BCANY Summer Hoops Festival in Monroe-Woodbury. Local girls and boys from Kingston will face top talent from across New York, gaining valuable exposure in a three-day showcase with games, a 3-point contest, and a slam dunk competition.
   

4. Mid-Hudson Valley business calendar for the week of Aug. 3, 2026 (dailyfreeman.com) — Kingston professionals can network at an Ulster County Chamber mixer on Aug. 5 at HealthAlliance’s Mary’s Avenue campus, featuring hospital tours and refreshments. Then on Aug. 11, a free ribbon-cutting at 253 Fair St. welcomes Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley to its new Kingston location, with the public invited to RSVP.
   

5. Hudson Valley Film Commission says region ought to be in pictures, pushes for more productions (dailyfreeman.com) — A Kingston-based executive is leading a major push to attract more film and TV productions to the Hudson Valley, with a revamped website highlighting locations, jobs, and local crew. Residents and property owners in and around Kingston are encouraged to submit film-friendly sites and join the commission’s new membership portal, which aims to grow the region’s creative economy and hotel bookings.
