The Big Band Sound jazz orchestra recreates the swinging sounds of the big band era and beyond, including classics made famous by Duke Ellington, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Benny Goodman, Count Basie, and Glenn Miller. In the tradition of these great orchestras, The Big Band Sound is a 20-piece jazz band consisting of saxophones, trombones, trumpets, rhythm section, and vocalists which performs standards from the core of the Great American Songbook, all in the most exciting setting of a big band.

Special Event: Big Band Sound Boscobel Swing Dance w/Got2lindy Lesson

Arts Society of Kingston

Got2Lindy rotates through three different beginner class series (intro to single step series, intro to triple step series, intro to 8-count series). This allows students to focus on learning one footwork pattern at a time and on building a vocabulary of basic moves that build a strong foundation before moving up. Students may do any of the beginner series in any order, as they each stand alone to build your basics. Just jump in!
BEGINNER SERIES: Intro to 6-count Triple Step
This series introduces triple step six-count footwork, leading and following moves in closed and open positions including the send out, bring in, inside turn, sweetheart, free side pass, and more.
This is a FOUR-WEEK SERIES. Learn and review each week.
NOTE: Class dates are June 9, 16, 23, 30
No Prerequisite, No Partner or Experience Needed. New students are welcome each month.
ATTENDANCE POLICY:
Students may start up to the second week of each new series. We always review. Students may mix and match locations to suit their schedule or make up any missed classes at our Marlboro location. If you opt for the video, you will also receive the material from any class you miss.
Weather policy: Registered attendees will be notified if class is held via Zoom or rescheduled due to weather or any other issues.

Join us for the 2026 Hudson Valley Fermentation Festival, where you can explore a lively outdoor tasting market, packed with local producers&nbsp;of fermented food and beverages. From sour pickles and indulgent cheeses to chocolate, cider and wine, discover and celebrate the diversity and gut-goodness of fermented creations! Swing into midsummer with an evening of dancing and live music in this jaw-dropping historic performance hall featuring a dancer’s dream of 4,000 square feet of beautiful wood floor and acoustics worthy of an old opera house!
Start with a beginner-friendly Lindy Hop lesson led by Chester and Linda of Got2Lindy Dance Studios before taking to the floor with live music by Eight to the Bar. The evening also includes a performance by The Got2Lindy Hoppers.
Lindy Hop began at the Savoy Ballroom in Harlem, where dancers of all backgrounds filled the massive dance floor. That history continues to shape how the dance is practiced and shared today. Got2Lindy Dance Studios and Hudson Hall are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone.
