• The 2026 Upstate Power 100 (cityandstateny.com) — One of New York’s most influential upstate leaders, ORDA chief Ashley Walden, is now chairing an exploratory committee on whether New York City and the Adirondacks—centered on Lake Placid—could bid for the 2042 Winter Olympics. Her role, highlighted in this Upstate Power 100 list, comes as she also wrestles with deficits after a tough ski season, making any Olympic push especially high stakes for Lake Placid’s future economy.
