• Keller, Morrow Invited to 2026 USA Hockey Women's National Festival (gopsusports.com) — Lake Placid’s Herb Brooks Arena will host USA Hockey’s 2026 Women’s National Festival August 2–8, bringing 46 top collegiate players to town. Two Penn State sophomores, Mikah Keller and Sophie Morrow, are among the invitees, vying for spots in a U.S. team that will face Canada later in August. Their selection highlights Lake Placid’s ongoing role in elite international hockey. 
• The 2026 Upstate Power 100 (cityandstateny.com) — One of New York’s most influential upstate leaders, ORDA chief Ashley Walden, is now chairing an exploratory committee on whether New York City and the Adirondacks—centered on Lake Placid—could bid for the 2042 Winter Olympics.
