Almost Time to Get Buzzed!

Register Now for Larchmont's 8th Annual Spelling Bee!

The Friends of the Larchmont Public Library will present its 8th Annual Spelling Bee on Sunday, March 29 at 4pm in the Social Hall at Larchmont Temple, 75 Larchmont Avenue (corner of Willow & Larchmont). Admission is free for spectators. Refreshments will be available at 3:30pm.

The deadline for all entries is March 20.

As always, teams are limited to three people per team. Families are encouraged to participate, but there must be at least one adult per team. Students wishing to participate must be in grade 8 or above.

Lou Young, Larchmont resident and CBS-TV news personality, returns as the Master of Ceremonies. George Latimer, Westchester County Executive; Lorraine Walsh, Larchmont Mayor; and Nancy Seligson, Mamaroneck Town Supervisor will serve as Bee judges.

In 2019, sixteen teams participated in the 7th Annual Spelling Bee and the event drew a record crowd. The winning team was “The Spellbinders” representing At Home On the Sound comprised of team members Barbara Grae, Dorothy Greene, and Benedicta Schwager. The winning word was “aberrant.”
