Amigos is a club at Mamaroneck High School and bridges over to Mamaroneck Avenue School. The club is supportive, helpful, and fun.
Every Thursday after school, the high school students, or “Big Amigos”, go to Mamaroneck Avenue School for an hour. In that valuable time frame, the students work on homework and play games.
The club aim is simple: fostering education to elementary school students and teaching governance and responsibility to high school students. It’s a win-win situation.

Not only are kids being taught the importance of schoolwork, but they also get to do activities that get them closer to their Amigo. The club provides friendship and a positive environment.
The last meeting, Thursday, May 30th, held the Color Wars. The Color Wars is a competitive game in which the Amigos are split into four teams- blue, red, yellow, and green. The colors fight other teams to win mini-games, and in the end, battle it out in a water balloon fight. The Color Wars ended the club year on a high note.

Overall, the club was a success. Next year, the club will be conducted by Lydia Ochoa as President and Britney Urrutia as Vice President. All the Amigos, big or little, look forward to learning for years to come.
