For anyone who has been searching for an inclusive, spiritually enriching, community rooted in traditional Jewish values, one needs look no further than Congregation Sulam Yaakov in Larchmont. Walking into this beautiful and inviting synagogue, one immediately feels the excitement of spiritual engagement -- filled with warmth and passion, a rich repertory of classic and contemporary music that lifts the soul, and deep words of prayer and study that challenge the mind.

The name Sulam Yaakov - "Jacob's Ladder" in English - reflects in many ways the congregation's purpose and journey together in trying to follow a dynamic spiritual path. Congregation Sulam Yaakov is a progressive Conservative congregation, led by Argentinean Rabbi Alfredo Borodowski. Founded in 2005, we are new to Larchmont where we are joined by members of Beth Emeth. Egalitarian and democratic, every member is a vital part of the whole. Participations is not only welcomed, it is encouraged. The congregation is committed to moral and spiritual growth, through study of Torah and the incorporation of its values into one's daily life. It is also open to experimentation and welcomes ways in which it may strengthen both its quest for spiritual connection and its commitment to Israel and the world Jewish community. The synagogue is a place where all can feel comfortable.
