Sketch of Armed Robbery Suspect Released

Police released today a sketch of the man who robbed a woman at gunpoint on West Garden Road near Hickory Grove Road in the Town of Mamaroneck yesterday afternoon. 

The victim, 43, told police the suspect approached her around 3:30 p.m., started a conversation and then showed a gun and demanded her purse. 

The suspect, described as a black male, ran east with the bag to a small tan sedan, likely a Toyota or Nissan, with dark tinted windows, said Lt. Robert Koziak. He drove away also eastbound.

Koziak did not know the cash value of the contents of the woman's bag.

The incident is still under investigation.
