Assault, Robbery At Chatsworth CVS Leads To Manhunt, Arrest: Police

The Westchester PD aviation unit helped to find the suspect, who is believed to also be connected to a similar crime on a Bee-Line bus.

LARCHMONT, NY — A village CVS that has been the scene of brazen shoplifting attempts in the past, was the scene of an assault and robbery this week.

On Monday, shortly before 6 p.m., the Larchmont Police Department was called to an assault and robbery at the CVS store on Chatsworth Avenue.

Callers reported that the suspect fled on foot. This suspect matched the description of an earlier incident of a suspect wanted for another robbery and assault that occurred on a Westchester County Bee Line bus.

Larchmont police requested assistance from surrounding police departments, which resulted in officers from Westchester County, the Town of Mamaroneck and the Village of Mamaroneck responding to assist. The Westchester County Aviation Unit also responded.

Officers assisted in searching the area where the suspect was believed to have been contained. Not long after the search started, the suspect was located and arrested near Wendt Avenue and Vanderburgh Avenue.

"The Larchmont Police Department is committed to protecting life safety of all Larchmont residents," police officials said in a statement announcing the arrest. "Larchmont's first responders acted swiftly and professionally in apprehending a violent felony offender, in accordance with their training, to keep the community safe."
