Beth El Open Beit Midrash December Scholar Visit Announced

Jack Wertheimer, a professor of American Jewish History at the the Jewish Theological Seminary, will be the guest scholar.

Beth El Synagogue Center's next Open Beit Midrash scholar visit will be with Jack Wertheimer, a professor of American Jewish History at the the Jewish Theological Seminary. His topic for the evening will be "The Good News about American Judaism"

Mr. Wertheimer writes about religious, educational and communal life since World War II. His upcoming book, "The New American Judaism: How Jews Practice Their Religion Today," is scheduled to be published late summer.

Open Beit Midrash is held on alternating Tuesdays and Thursdays with Beth El Rabbis David Schuck and Zach Sitkin, and Rabbi Ethan Linden, the executive director of Ramah Berkshires, simultaneously teaching on different areas of Jewish texts. On the last week of each month a scholar will teach a specific topic in their field. Free and open to the public.
