Boston Post Road Work

Village of Mamaroneck Traffic Advisory

Notice of Night Construction Work

Intersection of Boston Post Road and North/South Barry Avenue
Drainage Improvement Project
For the Time Frame of Monday, August 5 to Saturday August 10, 2013
Hours of construction will be 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Dear Neighbors and Mamaroneck Business Persons:

On behalf of the Village of Mamaroneck I am writing to you to give you the latest update about the ongoing Barry Avenue and Boston Post Road catch-basin and storm drainage improvement contract in the Village of Mamaroneck.

What: Night Construction Work requiring lane-closures of Boston Post Road, at the intersection of Boston Post Road and North/South Barry Avenue.

Dates: This phase of work will begin Monday, August 5, 2013, starting at 7 p.m. Dates of work run from Monday, August 5, 2013, through Saturday morning on August 10, 2013.

Times: The hours of construction will be 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night.

Place: Intersection of Barry Avenue with Boston Post Road.

A trench is required for the work to take place across Boston Post Road, at the Barry Avenue intersection. This will require lane closures as construction takes place.

To minimize the impacts on traffic and business, the Village of Mamaroneck in coordination with the NY State Department of Transportation (NYS DOT) has arranged to have our contractor implement the construction work across Boston Post Road at night. This work will take approximately five (5) days.

Parking and Traffic: No detour will be possible to close Boston Post Road. However, we strongly urge everyone to consider alternate routes during this time frame, to avoid anticipated traffic back-ups. Some nearby parking may need to be suspended during these night time-frames, and if so they will be posted by the Village of Mamaroneck.

Updates: Please be advised that the if construction schedule changes depending on weather, field conditions, and excavation conditions, the Village will post updates on our Website: www.village.mamaroneck.ny.us.

We can also send you e-mail updates as well, which you can receive by signing up for Village News. Here is the link:

Our next update will be posted approximately by mid-August, 2013.

We greatly appreciate your cooperation and understanding, and we apologize for any inconvenience.

Best Regards,

Norman S. Rosenblum
Mayor, Village of Mamaroneck
