MAMARONECK, NY — Car thieves are targeted local car washes in at least three separate incidents, police said.

Two incidents happened in the Village of Mamaroneck and another in the Village of Pelham Manor, according to an alert issued by the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department. Car thefts were reported Monday at 1 p.m and 9 p.m., as well as Tuesday at 3:45 pm.

Investigators said they believe the car thefts were closely coordinated by unknown perpetrators who stole cars from the car washes, after the cars were just cleaned and left unattended.
