Checkmate! Village and Town of Mamaroneck Police Blotter

Bad checks were involved in police investigations in both the Town and Village of Mamaroneck this week.

These are some of the cases being investigated by the Town and Village of Mamaroneck Police Departments from Feb. 8 to Feb. 10.

Village of Mamaroneck

Arrest
On Feb. 9 around 10:54 a.m., Gregory Wong, 25, of Bridgeport, CT, was arrested for criminal possession of a forged instrument and criminal possession of stolen property after he allegedly tried to cash a check for $220 at a bank on E. Boston Post Road with mismatched identification.

Criminal Mischief
On Feb. 10 around 7:20 a.m., a car owner reported their vehicle parked on the 100 block of Beach Ave., had its driver’s side window broken, side view mirrors removed and key scratches were observed.

Graffiti was observed on Feb. 10 to a sign on the 1000 block of W. Boston Post Rd. around 9:33 a.m.

Disorderly Conduct
A 26-year-old Mamaroneck man was arrested for disorderly conduct and possession of an open container near the 300 block of Mamaroneck Ave. around 7:10 p.m. on Feb 9.

DWI
David Leute, 32, of Mamaroneck, was arrested for DWI near the 500 block of Mamaroneck Ave. around 1:55 a.m., Feb. 8.

Larceny
Four wheels and rims valued at $1,400 were taken from a car parked in the Jefferson Avenue Lot on Feb. 9.  The car was parked in the lot at 6:30 a.m. and the owner discovered the theft at 7 p.m.

Power Outage
Police received multiple calls on Feb. 8 around 4:50 a.m. about a power outage and loud bang near Colonial Court.  ConEd worked on restoring power from a location on Taylors Lane.

Property Damaged
On Feb. 8 around 5:30 p.m., a Mamaroneck Avenue apartment dweller reported the rear passenger side quarter panel and door of their car had been dented, possibly by a shopping cart.

A car owner filed a police report on Feb. 10 about dent to their rear hatch caused by a hit and run accident in the past.

Traffic Light Out
On Feb. 8 around 7:11 a.m., traffic lights were out at the intersections of Mamaroneck and Hoyt Avenues; at Palmer and Mt. Pleasant Avenues; and near the 1000 block of W. Boston Post Rd.  The Department of Public Works was notified.

Six vehicle accidents without injury.

Town of Mamaroneck

Grand Larceny
A business on Myrtle Boulevard reported four checks stolen in amounts totaling $9,021.50 on Feb. 9 by an unknown suspect.

Two vehicle accidents without injury.
