CLOSE UP AND PERSONAL The Unseen Rock and Roll Photography of Tapani Talo

On view December 1 through December 31 at the Larchmont Public Library, this exhibit celebrates the golden age of rock 'n' roll history!

On view December 1 through December 31 in the Oresman Gallery at the Larchmont Public Library, this exhibit celebrates the golden age of rock and roll in photographs, most of which have never been exhibited, taken by Tapani Talo, a Westchester County resident, architect, photographer and, during the time the photographs were taken, a sound engineer for some of the most iconic bands of the era. The exhibit is open during normal library hours.

In addition to the month-long exhibit, beginning at 3:30pm on Sunday, December 7, there will be a wine and cheese reception for Mr. Talo. Then at 4:00pm, Talo will share a multi-media presentation that will include excerpts from live as well as studio recordings - many never released - featuring bands such as Fleetwood Mac in 1969, John Mayall with Keith Relf from the Yardbirds on vocals, the Rolling Stones, Deep Purple and Bad Company. At the conclusion of the presentation, there will be a question and answer session. The reception and media presentation are sponsored by The Friends of the Larchmont Public Library. Both the gallery exhibit and the reception are free.

Mr. Talo’s love of music is evident in the very deep facial expressions and seriousness that comes through. Besides photos from the Rolling Stones 1970 show in Helsinki, Finland, other highlights of the exhibit include rare performance images of Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, Cream and Blind Faith and several others.
