About Maison Margaux Bakery opens Nov 13th in Mamaroneck
Maison Margaux, a French-style bakery, will open on Mamaroneck Avenue on November 13th. This new shop will bring to the community fresh bread baked on the premises, a wide choice of viennoiseries and cakes, as well as delicacies specially curated such as Malongo coffee, Palais des Thés teas and Alain Milliat juices.
The owner, Estelle Rocton-Pailhes, has a very simple motto: “Envy is the starting point, authenticity is the common thread and to please others the finality”. She has decided to start this business after a 22-year career in Marketing and Sales functions in the luxury and food industries (LVMH, Nestle), in Europe and America.
Driven by a passion for good food, she recalls: “High quality baking has always been a tradition in my family”. Her mother, a chef pâtissier, was trained by Gaston Lenôtre himself! After many years taking cooking classes as a hobby in Paris or Madrid, Estelle decided to pass proper certification to be able to share her passion.
Her boutique will provide clients with delicious breads, pastries and cakes, and will also be a place to have breakfast or lunch with specialties such as salads, sandwiches or soups cooked the French way! It will also carry a wide range of curated French delicacies.
A mother of three, Estelle wants Maison Margaux to be an example of a socially responsible business. All the disposable tableware used will be compostable: “I feel that I owe to be a waste reducing boutique to my children!”. Donations will be made to food banks to avoid any throwing away.
Close to the Mamaroneck High School and French American High School campuses, Maison Margaux will offer special discounts to the students, as Estelle feels they should be fed with good healthy meals at lunch.
