With swarms plaguing areas south of Boston Post Road and health worries rising, the village is awaiting state guidance on whether public funds can be used for treatment on privately managed Otter Creek Preserve.

• Who's to Blame for 49 million Gallons of sewage pouring into Hudson After Power Failure at Yonkers Wastewater Treatment Plant? (yonkerstimes.com) — A massive power failure at the Yonkers sewage treatment plant sent 39 million gallons of partially treated sewage into the Hudson over the July 4 weekend, prompting countywide health advisories. Mamaroneck residents were also asked by Con Edison to conserve power during the heatwave, as officials and former plant staff now call for a full investigation into generator failures and oversight.
