Eagle Down: Police Blotter
The eagle atop the VOMFD flagpole takes flight, and takes out a car mirror on the ground.

These are some of the cases being investigated by the Town and Village of Mamaroneck Police Departments from Feb. 18 to Feb. 21.
Village of Mamaroneck
Accident, Pedestrian
On Feb. 19, around 10:15 a.m., a police report was made about a pedestrian being hit by a green Jeep near the 700 block of E. Boston Post Rd. The pedestrian had been a passenger in the car. After exiting the car, and being struck by the driver, the person got back into the Jeep and left the scene before police arrived.
DWI
Khaled Muqattash, 31, of Yonkers, was arrested for DWI on Feb. 19, 1:53 a.m. near the 1600 block of Mamaroneck Ave.
Rafael Palermo, 22, of the Bronx, was arrested for DWI on Feb. 19, 4:36 a.m. near the 100 block of Rockland Ave.
Epifanio Vargas, of Harrison, was arrested for DWI on Feb. 19, 6:23 a.m. near the 600 block of Hillside Ave. after a car accident. He was taken to Sound Shore Medical Center for a laceration to the right hand.
Rory Richards, 31, of Stamford, CT, was arrested for DWI on Feb. 19, 11:37 p.m. near the 300 block of Halstead Ave.
Illegal Dumping
Police issued a summons after catching someone illegally dumping items near Fayette Avenue on Feb. 20 around 2 p.m.
Larceny
Someone took two cases of beer valued at $37 without paying from a business on the 700 block of Mamaroneck Ave. around 2:15 pm., Feb. 19.
Police took a report on Feb. 20 about a past larceny near the 1500 block of E. Boston Post Rd. involving a jacket ($200), a phone ($200), cash ($100) and personal papers taken without permission.
Property Damage
An eagle fell from atop the flagpole in front of the Village of Mamaroneck Fire Department headquarters around 4 p.m. on Feb. 19. The rear mirror of a car was damaged.
Suspicious People
On Feb. 19, around 10:35 a.m., police received a call about a person going door-to-door on North Barry Avenue asking residents if they had security alarms. Police advised the person, who said they were selling security systems for a well-known company, of village code regarding solicitation.
On Feb. 19, around 11:30 p.m., police responded to a call about a man with no shirt out in the cold near the 700 block of Mamaroneck Ave. The man was taken to headquarters until a friend picked him up.
Tree Down
A car was hit by a fallen tree near the 1200 block of Stoneybrook Ave. according to a police report made Feb. 19 at 8:23 a.m. ConEd and DRW responded to deal with downed wires after the accident.

Criminal Mischief
A home on Vine Road was egged between 11 p.m. on Feb. 18 and 9 a.m. on Feb. 19 causing damage to its paint and shingles.
Vehicle Accidents, with injury
On Feb. 20, around 6 p.m., one driver lost control of her vehicle near the 100 block of Palmer Ave. The car spun out of control, striking two cars—one that was parked. The driver of the first vehicle refused medical attention, but the driver of one of the struck cars was taken to New Rochelle hospital complaining of general pain.
One vehicle accident without injury.
