Feds Pull Funding For Mamaroneck Flood Mitigation

The $82 million project was approved by Congress.

MAMARONECK, NY — The federal government has pulled funding for a long-delayed flood mitigation project in Mamaroneck. The Office of Management and Budget told the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers that it was denying funding for the Mamaroneck and Sheldrake River flood project for this year and next.

The $82 million project was approved by Congress in October 2018, the Journal News said.

Village of Mamaroneck Mayor Thomas Murphy put the blame on President Donald Trump for pulling the project.
