MAMARONECK, NY — A former volunteer fire chief from the Sound Shore has been chosen by Gov. Andrew Cuomo for a position in his administration. Michael Kopy was selected to be the governor's director of emergency management.

Cuomo said he was proud to welcome Kopy and others to his team in the Office of State Operations.

"With the help of these driven and qualified individuals, we will continue to make New York a strong and more just state for all," he said.
