Guidelines For Same-Sex Marriages in the Town of Mamaroneck
The Town of Mamaroneck has received their new forms from the state and will be able to issue same-sex marriage licenses effective July 25.

It will be business as usual for couples seeking a marriage licenses on July 25 in the Town of Mamaroneck, said Town Clerk Christina Battalia.
The only difference, of course, is that same-sex couples will be lining up to get their licenses as well on this date, after a historic bill was passed on June 24 legalizing same-sex marriage in New York State. The bill officially takes effect on July 24, however, town offices are typically only open Monday-Friday.
Although the Town officially received their new forms on July 14 from the New York State Department of Health, the only difference is the addition of the word “Spouse” to the heading “Bride/Groom” on the top of each form, said Battalia.

In order to obtain a marriage license, couples will need to visit the office at the Mamaroneck Town Center anytime between 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, and bring two forms of identification—one government-issued photo ID and an original or certified copy of a birth certificate. The cost for the license is $40. This information can also be found on the Town's website here.
There are several marriage officers available to perform ceremonies, including two judges, the Town Supervisor, and the Town Clerk. The ceremony can be scheduled when the license is issued. The cost for the ceremony is $75, and the Town Clerk can accept up to $75 in gratuity according to state law, said Battalia, although the gratuity amounts may vary for other marriage officers.
