Gun Swiped From Unlocked Vehicle in Mamaroneck Town

A man reported his .38 caliber Smith and Wesson gun as stolen last week.

A Leatherstocking Lane resident is missing more than spare change after his car was broken into last week.

The man reported his .38 caliber, two inch barreled Smith and Wesson gun missing from the center console of his unlocked car—which was parked in his driveway—at 7:21 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14, said Lt. Robert Koziak, Town of Mamaroneck Police spokesperson.  The gun was valued at $500.

The resident currently has a valid carry permit and was not in violation of any laws regarding gun transport.   Certain kinds of carry licenses allow a gun owner to carry their firearm to and from specified locations apart from their residence.
