Fluid Spill on Fenimore Road Cleared

Since about 10:30 a.m. this morning, there was a fluid spill on Fenimore Road, between Palmer Avenue and Boston Post Road. That section of Fenimore was closed for about 40 minutes starting at 2:30 p.m., but the condition has been cleared and traffic is flowing normally again.

"Our guess is that a Department of Public Works truck broke and dropped hydraulic fluid in the general area, said 2nd Assistant Fire Chief Robert Pecchia. It could also have come from a salt truck, he said.

The emergency was for drivers or pedestrians slipping. They were advised to use caution when in that area. 

Officers from the Village of Mamaroneck Fire, Police, Health, Sewer and Public Works departments were on the scene.
