Hommocks Student Reports Stranger Approached Him Near School
A Hommocks Middle School student told school officials he was approached by men in a car yesterday afternoon.

As he was walking home from school yesterday at 4:45 p.m. on bustling Boston Post Road near , a student reported that he was approached by several strange men in a car who offered to give him a ride or help, according to an e-mail notice that was sent out to Hommocks parents today.
The car—described as a beige Toyota four-door sedan driven by a man—had several male passengers in the back as well. The car continued to follow the student, presumably after he refused assistance, until he ran into nearby to call his father.
At posting time, the Town of Mamaroneck police had not yet returned a call for comment.

The e-mail urged parents to instruct their children in “stranger danger measures,” which include common sense measures such as walking home in groups on well-established routes and running into nearby stores if approached by a stranger so that they can call home and report what happened.
“Finally, emphasize that students must never enter a car with a stranger, even if the stranger claims to be sent by the child’s parents," the e-mail concluded.
