Hundreds of Mamaroneck Schools Participate in 11th Annual Junior Triathlon

About 1,000 people participate in the annual event.

MAMARONECK, NY — Nearly 300 local students swam, biked and ran on the sunny morning of Saturday, September 24, celebrating fun and fitness in the 11th Annual Mamaroneck Schools Foundation Junior Triathlon.

Students, who ranged in age from 7 through 13, completed a challenging course to cross the finish line at Hommocks Middle School, where they were cheered on by a crowd of parents and friends, according to a spokeswoman.

“This is a wonderful and important event that encourages our kids to be healthy, fit and goal-setters,” said Carolyn Lee, who co-chairs the event with Tricia DeLaMora.
