New Rochelle Talk.com reported a joint effort by area firehouses to prepare the departments for emergencies. Firefighters who participated in the drills responded to a simulated terrorist attack and worked together to remove and decontaminate numerous victims.
The victims were played by other firefighters so they could prepare to give people life-saving medical care in the event of an emergency.
Other participating departments included New Rochelle, Yonkers, White Plains, Pelham Manor, Scarsdale, Hartsdale, Greenville and the FDNY.

About the Larchmont Fire Department
The Larchmont Fire Department was incorporated in 1891. The department has served the residents of Larchmont for well over 100 years. The fire department is comprised of both career and volunteer firefighters. There is one firehouse located in the municipal building at 120 Larchmont Avenue. We serve a community of approximately 6,700 residents in an area that is about one square mile. Our apparatus consists of three engines, one tower ladder, a rescue and two department utillity vehicles. Annually we answer close to one thousand calls for assistance including car accidents, emergency medical calls, water conditions, lockouts and working structure fires.
