Larchmont Library Adds Self-Service Check Out Machine

LARCHMONT, NY — People have been checking out themselves at grocery stores for a while now, so why not at libraries?

The Larchmont Public Library recently installed a new self-checkout machine in the front lobby.

A post on the library’s website said the self-service machine can also scan library card barcodes saved on smartphones.

The library will also be adding other features eventually, such as book recommendations.
