Larchmont Library Reduces Hours Because of Staffing Shortage
Omicron has contributed to manpower woes for businesses and public services across the region. The library will reassess on Jan. 14.
LARCHMONT, NY — The Larchmont Library has been forced to reduce its hours because of an unexpected staffing shortfall as an omicron variant-fueled coronavirus surge gains momentum.
The reduced hours at the library start on Jan. 4. The library will be open to the public from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m daily. Additionally, the library will be closed on Sunday.
"We are extremely short staffed and consequently are adjusting Library hours," library officials said in a statement announcing the move. "Since we hope this situation will be short lived, we are not implementing appointments for browsing or for curbside pickup, however patrons may call Reference (914-834-2281 x. 3) or email (larchmontlibrary@wlsmail.org) and request curbside Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Staff will also be available by phone Monday through Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m."
