Larchmont Lions Launch 2018-19 Peace Poster Contest
Local art professionals will pick winners from each school, along with 2 runners up in early November.

From The Larchmont Mamaroneck: The Larchmont Mamaroneck and New Rochelle Lions are once again are partnering with local middle schools for the 2018-19 Lions Peace Poster Contest. The theme for this year’s competition is “Kindness Matters”.
The Peace Poster Contest will be launched at the Larchmont Art Festival on Saturday, Sept 29. Last year’s local and international winners will be on display. Children can do their own “on site” art reflecting the “Kindness Matters” theme.
The partner schools are The Hommocks Middle School, The French American School, Sts. John and Paul, Rye Neck Middle School and Albert Leonard Middle School.

The Lions International Peace Poster Contest is an annual worldwide competition for children 11-13, encouraging them to express their vision of world peace through art. This year’s theme – “Kindness Matters” is particularly relevant for the current times.
Local art professionals will pick winners from each school, along with 2 runners up in early November. The winning entries will be entered into the International Lions competition, the winner of which will be announced at the United Nations in March. Our local posters will also be displayed in their respective schools and at local libraries.

This is the 32nd year of the competition, which last year received over 600,000 entries.
The Larchmont Mamaroneck and New Rochelle Lions are part of Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest service organization. They are also part of the Sound Shore Lions Clubs, which include clubs in Rye and White Plains.
