LARCHMONT, NY — The village of Larchmont will be moving its elections to November. A referendum on the ballot Tuesday passed overwhelmingly 252 to 17, according to unofficial results.

Mayor Lorraine Walsh said the change of date from March to November would take place in 2021 and allow the election to take place on the same date as the general election.

She also said it would increase voter turnout, save the village from having to pay for an additional election and better align a new officer's term with the budget approval process.

"Many other Westchester villages have also moved their election dates to November," Walsh said, "including our neighbors Mamaroneck and Pelham."

In other election results from Tuesday, Walsh ran unopposed for re-election for mayor. She received 266 votes.
