Larchmont Police Blotter

2 arrests for driving with a suspended registration, 5 impounds.

The following is a brief synopsis of some of the incidents investigated by the officers of the Larchmont Police Department during the week beginning on Jan. 9, 2010 and ending on Jan. 16, 2010. 

Vehicle and Traffic Law Arrests

- A New Rochelle man was arrested on Jan. 11, and charged with operating with a suspended registration after he was observed operating his vehicle while using a cell phone on Palmer Ave. The vehicle was impounded, and the operator released on the issuance of an appearance ticket.

- A Bridgeport man was arrested on Jan. 9 and charged with operating with a suspended registration after he was observed operating his vehicle while using a cell phone on Boston Post Rd.  The vehicle was impounded, and the operator released on the issuance of an appearance ticket.

Vehicle Impound

- A scofflaw vehicle with $450 in outstanding fines was impounded and towed from Lot 3 on Jan. 14.

- A scofflaw vehicle with $240 in outstanding fines was impounded and towed from Vandergurgh Ave  on Jan. 13.

- A scofflaw vehicle with undetermined amount in outstanding fines was impounded and towed from Lot 7 on Jan. 12.

Larceny

- A Palmer Avenue service station attendant reported on Jan. 12 that after pumping $59 worth of gasoline in the vehicle, the operator falsely advised the attendant that she had an account with the service station.

Attempted Larceny

- The agent of a Palmer Avenue firm reported on Jan. 15 that someone attempted to cash a fraudulent check drawn on the company account for an undetermined amount at a bank in Manhattan.

Arrest Warrant Executed

Larchmont Police Detectives executed a warrant of arrest for a vehicle and traffic law misdemeanor charge on a Brooklyn man upon his release from a correctional facility.  The man was arraigned and released with an upcoming court appearance.
