Larchmont Police Blotter: May 15-21

New Rochelle man and Harrison woman arrested for trying to remove property belonging to Con Edison on North Avenue.

The following is a synopsis of some of the incidents investigated by the Larchmont Police Department between May 15-21:

Penal Law arrest

A New Rochelle man and a Harrison woman were arrested on May 15 after witnesses observed the two removing property on North Avenue, in the area of West Avenue, and while leaving the area their vehicle struck a dog.  Tara Wolczak, 31, of Harrison, was operating her SUV and failed to stop after the collision. Wolczak and her passenger, Douglas Rizo of New Rochelle, were confronted by a witness and an altercation ensued. Responding officers observed a heavy, copper wire in the rear of the SUV, and later determined the property belonged to Con Edison.  The two were charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, and Wolczak was also cited for Leaving the Scene of an Accident. Both defendants were released on $250 bail.

Vehicle & Traffic Law arrest

- A New Rochelle woman was arrested on May 15 and charged with operating with a suspended registration after she was observed operating her vehicle on Bronson Avenue.  The vehicle was impounded and the operator released on the issuance of an appearance ticket.

- A Stratford, Conn., man was arrested on May 15 and charged with operating with a suspended registration after he was observed operating his vehicle on Larchmont Avenue.  The vehicle was impounded and the operator released on the issuance of an appearance ticket.

- A Yonkers man was arrested on May 20 and charged with operating with a suspended license after he was observed operating his vehicle on Boston Post Road.  The operator was released on the issuance of an appearance ticket.

Larceny

A Concord Avenue resident reported on May 17 that she purchased fraudulent concert tickets advertised on Craigslist.

Graffiti

Graffiti was discovered on the walls of the MTA tunnel during the late evening hours of May 20

In addition to the preceding, Larchmont police officers also responded to  the following:

- 12 burglar alarms

- 4 motor vehicle accidents

- 4 aided cases

- 32 other calls for service
