Las Vegas Resident Charged in Mamaroneck Bank Robbery

Police say they had the suspect in custody seven hours after yesterday's hold-up at the Chase bank.

A Las Vegas man whom police say robbed the Chase bank branch on Mamaroneck Avenue Friday at 12:30 p.m. is in custody today.

Police said the man, Maximillian Conley Kvetan, had $5,308 in his possession when arrested.

The bank had been robbed of $5,338.

Police said due to the quick action of bank employees, they were hunting for the then-unidentified bank robber within 10 minutes of the incident. They arrested Kvetan seven hours later; they did not say where.

Investigating agencies included the Village of Mamaroneck police, the Westchester County Department of Public Safety, the New York State Police and the FBI bank task force.

Kvetan is charged with third degree robbery and third degree criminal possession of stolen property, both felonies. He is being held pending arraignment in Village Court, police said.
