LI Man Accused Of Having 4 Pounds Of Pot
Troopers said probable cause was found to search the man's vehicle.

MAMARONECK, NY — A traffic stop on the Thruway ended with a Long Island man being arrested and charged with drug possession, police said. Around 3 p.m. Jan. 15, troopers stopped a vehicle on I-95 in the Village of Mamaroneck for a vehicle and traffic violation.
During an interview with the driver — Elvis McPhill Jr., 34, of Valley Stream — probably cause was established to search the vehicle, police said.
After the search, McPhill was found to be in possession of more than 4 pounds of marijuana, police said.

He was taken into custody and processed at the New Rochelle barracks, where he was charged with the following:
- Second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a felony
- Unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation
- Vehicle and traffic violations
McPhill was arraigned in the Town of Pelham Court and sent to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail or $2,500 bond. At this time, there is no information about a return court date.
