Mamaroneck To Close Italian Ices Shop

The zoning board revoked the establishment's certificate of occupancy.

MAMARONECK, NY — Village officials have said Ralph’s Italian Ices & Ice Cream must close within a week. The Zoning Board of Appeals revoked the eatery’s certificate of occupancy Thursday and denied the business an application for a special use permit.

Ralph’s had been plagued with noise and parking complaints and sought to mitigate them, lohud.com said.

The village had originally made a mistake by classifying the shop as a retail business instead of a food business meaning it was subject to fewer regulations such as a site plan review.
