Mamaroneck District Voters Weigh In On Bond Resolution

The $49.8 million spending package will affect all six schools and the transportation garage.

MAMARONECK, NY — The capital improvement bond that addresses end-of-life systems and safety issues for the Mamaroneck school district was passed overwhelmingly Tuesday by the public. According to unofficial results posted on the district's website, 80 percent of voters approved the bond.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Robert I. Shaps thanked the community for its support for the projects that will impact all the district's schools.

"As we reiterated in the past many months, the bond includes work that was identified as being necessary in the 2015 Building Conditions Report and is critical for the safety of our school buildings," he said. "Much of the work was deferred from previous capital improvement plans."
