Mamaroneck EMS To Mark 50 Years of Service with Special Screening
A special screening of the award-winning documentary "Honorable But Broken: EMS In Crisis" will feature a discussion with the director.
MAMARONECK, NY — A special organization will celebrate a half-century of saving lives with a special event and a timely presentation by a respected local filmmaker.
To mark 50 years of service, the volunteers of Mamaroneck Emergency Medical Services will host a special screening of the new award-winning documentary "Honorable But Broken: EMS In Crisis," with a discussion with the director on Thursday, November 30, at 7 p.m. at the Pelham Picture House.
Tickets for the event are free, with donations accepted.

The event will include a screening of the new movie, which details the challenges and risks confronting first responders in New York and across the country, and a special Q & A session with the director, Bryoney Gilbey, a Westchester County resident.
Mamaroneck EMS, or MEMS, has provided life-saving care for the residents of Mamaroneck and surrounding communities since 1974, answering 911 calls 24 hours, seven days a week.

MEMS answers more than 1800 calls for help each year, with volunteer EMTs, emergency vehicle operators, and attendants contributing hundreds of hours providing critical care to neighbors. MEMS provides training for volunteers and delivers among the best response times in the county to the community. MEMS recently launched a new initiative to gather funds for a new ambulance to replace its aging fleet.
