Mamaroneck FBLA Launches the 2018-19 Year

Mamaroneck FBLA starts their year with annual recruitment pizza party.

Mamaroneck FBLA kicked off their 2018-2019 school year with a bang!

This past Thursday, September 20th, Mamaroneck FBLA hosted their annual pizza party. Students from all grades were welcome to attend and enjoy pizza, baked goods, and beverages, while also learning more about the club. The party was well attended, as nearly eighty students came out to garner more information about FBLA.

President Jessica Katz led the presentation, giving insight to what FBLA is and how members can get involved. After her lecture, Katz introduced the Chapter Officer Team. All Officers introduced themselves, stated their positions, and added their own tidbits about what FBLA means to them. FBLA stands for Future Business Leaders of America. FBLA is a student-led, national organization which offers members the ability to gain business skills. Members also have the ability to expand their network by attending conferences throughout the year and meet other members from different chapters.

This year, Mamaroneck FBLA will attend various conferences such as the National Fall Leadership Conference, the State Leadership Conference, and the National Leadership Conference. However the first conference of the year, the Fall District Meeting, will be held at Mamaroneck High School on October 12th. The conference will be led by Michaela Gualano, the current District 3S Vice President. All Chapters in District 3S are welcome to attend. The Conference offers members the ability to attend educational and business-related workshops. Also, keynote speaker Russell Wolff, Executive Vice President, International at ESPN, will be sharing his business lessons and experiences to members. Furthermore, the new District Officer Team will be selected.

Mamaroneck FBLA looks forward to the 2018-19 year. Led by Maria Siciliano and the Chapter Officer Team, they hope to make it a good one!
