Mamaroneck High School Newspaper Wins Award
"The Globe" was honored by the American Scholastic Press Association.

Mamaroneck High School’s student newspaper “The Globe” recently earned 1st Place for the third consecutive year from the American Scholastic Press Association, school officials announced.
ASPA reviewed hundreds of newspapers submitted by high schools across the country before selecting The Globe for top honors. The award was given for content coverage, page design, general plan, art (for both advertising and illustrations), editing, and creativity.
“What makes our paper special is the dedication of the students on staff. All of the work is completed during lunch meetings and after school, and the students put in long hours to complete each issue,” said MHS English Teacher Darren Bosch, who serves as Faculty Advisor for the Globe along with MHS Social Studies Teacher Craig Goldberg, in a statement. The Globe received a score of 950 out of 1,000, with a perfect 330/330 for content coverage.

The entire Globe staff and writers shares the award, including Editors-in-Chief Steven Rome and Rebecca Julie, and Managing Editors Caroline Weisstuch, Louise Olson and Kathleen Harwood.
“It’s wonderful to see how the more experienced students pass their writing and layout skills on to the younger students, and we have been very fortunate to have such a talented and motivated staff,” Bosch added.
