Police: Mamaroneck Man Molested Minor
Jorge D. Hernandez, 49, was arrested on Thursday and bail was set at $250,000.

A Mamaroneck man was arrested Thursday for allegedly molesting a child younger than 11 in a case that dates back more than nine years.
Jorge D. Hernandez, 49, was charged with first-degree sexual conduct against a child, according to Mamaroneck village police. If convicted of the felony charge, Hernandez would be forced to register as a sex offender, according to state law.
Hernandez, of 429 Union Ave., is accused of engaging in two or more acts of sexual conduct with a minor from March of 1998 through 2001, when the victim was less than 11 years old, police said. The arrest was the result of an investigation led by the department's detective division.

Hernandez appeared in court on Friday morning. His bail was set at $250, 000 and he was served with an order of protection. He was sent to Westchester County Jail and is scheduled to return to Village of Mamaroneck Justice Court on June 3.
