Mamaroneck and New Rochelle Firefighters Battle Warehouse Blaze

Mamaroneck and New Rochelle firefighters were battling a warehouse fire Tuesday afternoon near the border of the two communities, according to reports.

Initial calls appear to have come in just before 5 p.m. Kempter’s Fire Wire says the heavy fire is in a structure that contains salt, and that it may have spread to nearby oil and propane tanks. Whether there were any injuries was not immediately known.

The situation was being called a two-alarm fire, but numerous departments have been notified.
