Mamaroneck Playhouse Will Reopen As 6-Screen Movie House

This is the second Sound Shore historic theater to be saved.

MAMARONECK, NY — Another historic theater in southern Westchester is being saved. Vacant since 2014, the Mamaroneck Playhouse, at 238 Mamaroneck Ave., was sold earlier in February and will reopen this year.

The property was purchased from Bow Tie Cinemas by Blue Zees Real Estate LLC for $2 million, the Journal News said.

The plans are to renovate the building into a six-screen movie house.
