Incident report for the Week of Jan 4, 2010.

In the course of last week, the Town of Mamaroneck Police Department reported:

- A hit and run arrest: On Sunday, Jan. 10, at approximately 1:45 p.m., a woman living in New Rochelle was arrested for leaving the scene of an automobile incident on Weaver Street in the Town of Mamaroneck.

According to police reports, the victim stated that he was riding his motorcycle northbound on Weaver Street when the vehicle that was behind him drove left of the median, proceeded in front of the motorcycle and stopped abruptly. As a result of this, the victim lost control and was forced to rapidly dismount unsafely from the motorcycle, causing an abrasion to his right leg, police said. He refused medical attention.

The alleged perpetrator then reportedly left the scene without stopping. Hours later, she voluntarily came into the Police Headquarters and stated that the victim had stopped in front of her vehicle before she drove left of the pavement markings.  The woman received a summons.  

- An attempted burglary: On Thursday, Jan. 7, at approximately 10:45 a.m., an attempted burglary in the second degree was reported on North Chatsworth Avenue. An screen door was found ajar, police said.

- An identity theft case: On Tuesday, Jan. 5th, a Larchmont resident reported that someone had opened an account in her name in Minnesota.  An identity theft in the third degree case was opened.

- 5 Motor vehicle accidents

In the course of last week, the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department reported the following incidents: 

- An arrest for disorderly conduct and resisting: On Jan. 9, at approximately 7:21 p.m., a caller reported that an intoxicated female was fighting with staff outside of Lum Yem restaurant on 100 W Boston Post Rd., police said. Margarita Diaz, 44, of New Rochelle resident, failed to comply with the officers and kicked one of them. She was arrested for resisting and disorderly conduct and was released on an appearance ticket.  

- An auto accident with an aided case: On Jan. 10, at approximately  4:39 p.m., a car diving downhill on Fenimore Road in Mamaroneck hit a stopped car, which in turn hit the car in front of it. An elderly woman in the middle vehicle was taken to Sound Shore Medical Center for treatment. She suffered slight injuries, police said. 

- An arrest for possession of marihuana: On Jan. 6, at approximately 10:48 p.m., police officers stopped a vehicle for passing through a red light on South Barry Avenue. Upon stopping, the officers noticed a strong odor of marihuana emanating from the vehicle, police said. The driver was arrested for possessing a small amount of the drug. 

- An auto accident and property damage: On Jan. 4, at approximately 10:13 p.m., a driver in the 500 block of Rushmore Avenue was backing out of his driveway and accidentally hit the gas pedal, running into fences on three different neighboring properties, according to Police reports. 

- 18 aided cases

- 13 motor vehicle accidents

- 9 alarm activations

- 12 impounded vehicles

- 3 larcenies
